The Hangzhou Arts & Crafts Museum (including the China Knives, Scissors & Sword, Fan, and Umbrella Museums) won the gold award for the International Digital Cultural Tourism Innovation Award at the 11th ECI International Digital Innovation Festival in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in South China on Jan 16.
The award recognizes the museum's efforts to integrate culture and technology, which are aimed at strengthening the high-quality development of the museum, marking another international honor for Hangzhou's digital cultural transformation.
Transparent interactive screens demonstrate silk reeling and jade carving; a micro-sculpture area allows 360-degree close-ups; glass-free 3D screens showcase the Flying Bird Fan, and dynamic displays recreate scenes from theAlong the River During the Qingming Festival.
Immersive experiences extend throughout the museum: a curved theater with seasonal projections in the Jixue Stone exhibition hall, 3D films in the Knives & Scissors & Sword Museum, dynamic light-and-shadow fan displays, and flowing seasonal landscapes in the Umbrella Museum.
Four animated figures — Yujian, Huasan, Nifan, and Jiangbao — are presented as digital humans and 3D animations. An AI interactive robot in the Umbrella Museum transforms the classic "Xu Xian and Bai Niangzi returning the umbrella" scene from static wax figures into a real-time interactive cultural experience, achieving a breakthrough in exhibition design.
