Hangzhou's new policies to help elderly people eat well
Yesterday, Hangzhou interpreted two new policies onelderly meal assistance that would be officially implemented on May 1.
For the elderly meal assistance work in urban communities, it further clarifies service supply, institutional operation, service quality, and support guarantee, such as optimization of locations of elderly canteens, anddiversified operation.
For rural areas, the door-to-door meal delivery serviceis provided for elderly people with limited mobility. In addition, Hangzhou encourages and guides public welfare organizations, charitable institutions, caring enterprises, and other social forces to participate in relevant activities.
So far, Hangzhou has built about 2,300 elderly canteens, and the coverage rate of village & community services exceeds 90 percent.
