Hangzhou extended an invitation to Kenyan enterprises for the 4th Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) in Nairobi, capital of Kenya, with the nickname "Silicon Valley of Africa" on March 31.

The annual event, which is set to take place in September, aims to foster digital trade cooperation, cross-border e-commerce, and talent exchange between China and Kenya.

During the promotional event, Hangzhou's municipal commerce bureau introduced Digital Trade Africa Day, which will return to this year's expo. Following last year's success, the initiative will highlight smart cities, African e-commerce, and China-Africa industrial collaboration.

Kenya, a rising hub for the digital economy, sees opportunities to learn from China's experience in digital trade. Kenyan government officials emphasized their commitment to boosting digital innovation and strengthening partnerships in technology, green energy, and investment.

The event also saw Hangzhou's Xiaoshan district promoting itself as an investment destination, the unveiling of new China-Africa cooperation projects, and the launch of the East Africa division of the Silk Road e-commerce innovation competition. Hangzhou, as the permanent host city of GDTE, continues to serve as a global hub for digital trade and innovation.
